Really beginner question by Nancy Sackman

Hello,

I'm trying to remember that WordPress was a learning curve too and trying not to get frustrated.  After spending most of the day on this one, I figured I'd ask.

My theme has something called page.Tabs.liquid, which does horizontal and vertical tabs. So, for learning purposes, I created a page called Tabs, added a few words of text, saved it, then went down to the template section and selected page.Tabs in the drop-down menu.  And then added the page to the top menu of the shop.

However, when viewing this page, none of my "few words of text" show up on the page - only what is hard coded into the page.Tabs.liquid template.  Which is, I guess, okay - I can type my content into that template and hit Save.

However, I have another page that I want to use tabs on.   So do I:

1.  Create a page.Tabs1.liquid and paste the original page.tabs.liquid into it and edit as necessary, and then select that in the drop-down menu, or

2.  Or what?  I scraped the bottom of the barrel on #1...is there some other way to handle it?

Or am I missing something as far as having to edit the actual template when creating a page?

I feel like I'm THIS close to having a beautiful shop and am stuck on this tabs thing.

Thanks,

Nancy
